Hiren PE reaches the desktop, but there is no network — the browser will not open and every online tool stays dead. A PE only knows the hardware its driver pack carries, and when your network card slips through, here is how to get connected.
A PE is a frozen Windows: it cannot download drivers, and it only recognises the chips its builders packed in. Hiren's BootCD PE tries to install drivers for your hardware during its first minutes after boot, but newer WiFi and Ethernet chips regularly slip through. Work through the fixes in order.
PE driver packs cover wired Ethernet chips far more completely than WiFi cards. If the machine has a LAN port, plug a cable in — even straight into the router across the room — and most 'no internet in PE' problems end on the spot.
Hiren's BootCD PE installs drivers during startup and the first minutes after the desktop appears — watch for its driver installation activity before concluding the network is dead. Then open Device Manager and look again.
Bring the driver to the PE yourself. On a working PC, download the laptop's network driver from the manufacturer's support page, extract the package until you can see the raw .inf and .sys files, and copy that folder onto a USB stick.
Before fighting the network for an hour, ask what the job actually needs. Password resets, data recovery, partition work, disk health checks and offline virus cleanup all work completely offline. Finish the rescue first; the machine's real Windows — with its full, proper drivers — is where networking belongs.
The common exception is downloading a file mid-rescue, like a BIOS update or a specific driver for the installed Windows — and a phone's USB tethering usually covers that in a minute.
If you regularly service recent laptops, accept the pattern: fan-maintained driver packs age, and network chips are where it shows first. Keep a current WinPE build — Sergei Strelec or MediCat — on the same Ventoy stick. Their packs are refreshed far more often and will take the newest WiFi card in stride.
Hiren stays your light, fast stick for everything else. The pair together end the driver lottery for good.
The video runs Hiren and the new WinPE tools on real machines and shows exactly how their driver support differs.

Usually not. Vendor setup programs expect a full Windows with services a PE does not run, and anything installed vanishes at reboot anyway. PE works with raw driver files — the extracted .inf set — loaded for the current session only.
Different layer. If the adapter shows connected, the driver is fine — check the cable or router, and remember that a PE has no saved WiFi password: you must join the network and type the password fresh inside the PE session.
