Boot Camp on Intel

Boot Camp Tiny11 on Intel MacBook Pro Drivers and Setup Honestly

Boot Camp is the only native Tiny11 route, and only on Intel. The install itself is straightforward. The parts that actually decide success are partition size, the driver install afterwards, and one support fact most guides skip.

On an Intel MacBook Pro, Tiny11 goes where any Windows would go - on a Boot Camp partition, running directly on the hardware. That native run is the whole appeal: full CPU, full graphics, no virtual layer. This page covers the setup in the order Boot Camp expects it, with the driver step treated as mandatory, not optional, and the honest limit stated up front: Apple documents Boot Camp for Windows 10, so any Windows 11 image there is already beyond Apple's tested support.

Boot Camp Assistant - partition step
Boot Camp Assistant Select tasks and ISO, then set the Windows partition size. macOS [=========== ] BOOTCAMP [ ===========] 128 GB recommended This size cannot be changed later without removing Windows.
The one decision you cannot resize later. Give Windows room to update, not just room to install (panel recreated with the real Boot Camp wording).

Prepare Space Backup and Power First

  1. Take a Time Machine backup. Partitioning is reliable, but it is still disk surgery.
  2. Free at least 64 GB; choose 128 GB or more for the Windows partition if you plan updates and real programs. A partition sized only for install day fills up within months.
  3. Plug in the charger and close other apps. On Macs with the T2 security chip, keep Secure Boot at Full Security as Apple directs for Boot Camp.
  4. Update macOS first - Boot Camp Assistant improvements arrive with macOS updates.
2

Run Boot Camp Assistant and Install

  1. Open Boot Camp Assistant from Applications, then Utilities, and follow its steps. Some older models ask for a 16 GB or larger USB drive; newer ones do not.
  2. Select your Windows image when asked and set the partition size carefully - this is the no-undo step.
  3. The Mac restarts into the Windows installer. Choose language settings and proceed.
  4. At the disk choice screen, select the partition labelled BOOTCAMP, click Format if the installer asks, then Next. Installing onto the macOS partition instead would destroy macOS - this label check matters.
  5. Complete Windows setup with a local or Microsoft account as the image allows, and reach the desktop.

Because Tiny11 removes the standard hardware checks, it can proceed on Intel Macs that a stock Windows 11 installer would refuse over TPM 2.0. That convenience is real. So is the consequence: neither Apple nor Microsoft supports this combination, so keep the macOS side healthy and backed up as your recovery path.

Install the Boot Camp Drivers Immediately

Fresh Windows on a Mac without Apple drivers is half a laptop - the trackpad may scroll badly, function keys and keyboard backlight may misbehave, and Wi-Fi, sound or graphics may run on basic fallbacks. Fix it in this order:

  1. On first Windows start, look for the Welcome to the Boot Camp installer window and run it fully, then restart.
  2. If it did not appear, open the Boot Camp support software from the install media or the OSXRESERVED or BOOTCAMP drive the assistant prepared, and run its setup.
  3. After restart, open Apple Software Update inside Windows and install any Boot Camp updates offered - later driver packs fix APFS visibility and device issues.
  4. Test each device once: trackpad right-click and scroll, Wi-Fi, sound, brightness keys, camera and Bluetooth. A single missing device usually means the driver pack did not finish, not that Tiny11 broke the hardware.

To switch systems afterwards, restart and hold the Option key, then pick macOS or Windows. Inside Windows, the Boot Camp Control Panel sets the default startup disk.

If the driver installer fails or a device stays dead after Apple Software Update, do not reinstall Windows first. Re-run the Boot Camp driver setup as administrator, restart, and test again. Driver problems after a Boot Camp install are common and fixable. A partition problem is not - which is why the backup and the BOOTCAMP label check come before everything else.

Common Questions

Boot Camp Assistant says Windows 11 is not supported. Is that expected

Effectively yes. Apple documents Boot Camp for Windows 10. Many users still install Windows 11 based images on Intel Macs, and Tiny11's removed checks help the installer proceed, but the combination is unsupported by Apple and Microsoft.

How much space should I really give Tiny11 in Boot Camp

The image itself is small, but Windows updates, page files and your programs are not. Treat 64 GB as the floor Apple states and 128 GB as the sensible choice. You cannot grow the partition later without removing Windows.

Windows installed but the trackpad and Wi-Fi are poor. Did Tiny11 remove them

Almost certainly not. That pattern means the Boot Camp driver pack has not been installed or did not finish. Run the Boot Camp installer, restart, then run Apple Software Update inside Windows.

This guide is based on the Technical Anshu video Install Tiny11 OS on MacBook Pro. Tiny11 is an unofficial modified Windows image and is not made or supported by Microsoft.
