Every guide assumes a gaming PC. Yours might be an old office laptop with integrated graphics — and that changes which routes are even open to you. Here is the honest floor for each method, with no fake promises.
Let us be direct: the official route has a hard floor, and if your PC is below it, no trick lowers it — the installer checks and refuses. But one route asks almost nothing from the PC at all, and it is the one most low-end guides forget. Match your machine to the table first; then read the route that is actually open to you.
Floors are what make the route usable, not what a download page claims in small print.
Windows 10 (2004+) or 11, 8 GB RAM, a 4-physical-core CPU, an SSD with 10 GB free, Intel UHD 630-class graphics and virtualisation enabled: if your "old" PC quietly meets this — many 2018+ laptops do — your best experience is Google Play Games on PC. Integrated graphics handle most listed mobile games well, because mobile games are built for phone GPUs far weaker than a laptop's.
On a 4–8 GB RAM machine, a full emulator can work for light games if you treat it like a rationing problem:
Heavy 3D titles will still struggle. That is physics, not a settings problem.
If the PC cannot qualify for anything, mirroring is not a sad fallback — it is the smart architecture. Your phone, even a budget one, was built to run these games; your old laptop was not. scrcpy over USB needs no install on the phone, no root, and the PC only decodes a video stream. Players use this route on decade-old hardware with smooth results for most game types.
Both are cheaper than a new PC and help Windows itself too. But do not buy them for a route until you have confirmed the game you want is actually on it.
"FPS booster" and "RAM cleaner" downloads do not create hardware. Modded "lite emulators" from random sites are a malware classic. And no setting makes a 2 GB RAM, dual-core machine run a flagship 3D game well — any video claiming that is showing you a different PC than the title says. Spend nothing, mirror the phone, and enjoy the games that genuinely run.

▶ Watch Full VideoNo — Google's installer requires 8 GB RAM, a 4-core CPU, an SSD and virtualisation. Use phone mirroring instead; it works on almost any PC.
Light games may run with low resolution and limited emulator RAM settings, but heavy 3D games will struggle. Mirroring your phone will feel better on the same hardware.
It needs a phone that runs the game well on its own screen — which is exactly the phone you already play on. The PC's power barely matters.
