Your Custom Windows Has No Microsoft Store - How Do You Get It Back
It was removed during the debloat (yours or a preset's), and now Store apps and winget installs are stuck. Three ways back — from a one-line built-in repair to the honest rebuild.

🎥 The custom ISO build where the Store gets removed — and how to build it right
This is the most common regret after building a custom ISO: the Microsoft Store is gone. Maybe you unticked it as "bloat", maybe a downloaded preset did. Either way the pain arrives later — a needed app exists only in the Store, winget installs fail, and searching Start finds nothing at all. Whether you can restore it depends on how much was removed with it: the Store relies on support packages (VCLibs, .NET Native and UI.Xaml frameworks). If those survived, the fixes below take minutes. If they were stripped too, skip to Fix 4 and save yourself the error messages.

The symptom: you search for the Store and Windows answers as if it never existed.

First Check: Removed, or Just Unregistered?
Sometimes the Store package is still on disk and only its registration broke. Open PowerShell and ask Windows directly:
Red error text about a package already running or in use is common — restart the PC and try the Store again before assuming failure
Repeat the same trick for Microsoft Store Purchase App if purchases/free-app installs specifically fail

If Its Dependencies Were Removed Too — the Honest Fix ⭐
If wsreset.exe -i finishes but no Store appears, and re-registering errors out, the build almost certainly removed the Store's framework packages (VCLibs, .NET Native, UI.Xaml) along with it. At that point there are two real options — and downloading "Store appx bundles" from random file sites is not one of them:
Repair install: run Setup from the genuine Microsoft ISO of the same edition, choose "Keep personal files and apps" — Windows repairs itself in place and restores all inbox apps, Store included, without touching your data
Rebuild the ISO properly: edit your image again, this time keeping the Store and its dependencies, and reinstall clean — the video below shows the build process where this choice is made
For future builds: remove the Store's junk (games, promo apps) but keep the Store itself — it weighs almost nothing and half of Windows expects it
⚠️ Avoid the shortcut: websites offering "Microsoft Store installer" downloads are a classic malware route. Every method above uses only tools already inside Windows or Microsoft's own ISO — if a fix asks you to disable your antivirus to install an appx file, close the page.

The complete custom ISO process — including which components to keep so this never happens again.
Because it was removed while editing the image — either unticked by hand in NTLite/MSMG, or removed silently by a downloaded "debloat" preset. The Store is a normal removable app in these tools, which is why checking your preset's component list matters.
Is wsreset.exe -i an official method?
Yes — wsreset.exe is Microsoft's own Store tool that ships inside Windows; the -i switch tells it to install the Store app. It downloads the genuine package from Microsoft, which is exactly why it is safer than third-party appx bundles.
Store is back, but apps will not download. What now?
Let the Store finish its own self-update first, confirm you are signed in with a Microsoft account, and check the Windows Update service is running — the Store delivers through it. If downloads still fail with dependency errors, the framework packages are missing and Fix 4 (repair install or rebuild) is the real answer.
