How Do I Put Every PC Repair Tool on One USB Drive
One pen drive for Windows setup, a second for password reset, a third for data recovery, a fourth for antivirus — that clutter ends here. With Ventoy, a single USB carries MediCat, Strelec, Gandalf and your Windows ISOs together, all selectable from one boot menu.

Most technicians waste time making a fresh bootable USB for every job, because normal tools format the whole drive for a single ISO. Ventoy works differently: you install it once, and after that you simply copy ISO files onto the drive like normal files. Add MediCat USB, Sergei Strelec WinPE and Gandalf's WinPE next to your Windows 10/11 ISOs, and one USB in your pocket becomes a complete repair shop — Windows installation, password reset, data recovery, disk cloning, virus removal and hardware testing.

1
What You Need Before Starting
Keep everything ready so the setup finishes in one sitting.
A USB drive of 32 GB minimum, 64 GB recommended — the three toolkits plus a Windows ISO together cross 30 GB easily
Ventoy — download it only from the official Ventoy website or its GitHub releases page
MediCat USB, WinPE Sergei Strelec and Gandalf's WinPE ISO files — Strelec's official home is sergeistrelec.name; avoid random repacked copies from unknown sites
A Windows 10 or Windows 11 ISO if you also want installations from the same drive
Back up anything stored on the USB — the Ventoy install step erases it completely
2
Install Ventoy on the USB (One Time Only)
This is the only formatting step in the whole process. After this, the drive behaves like a normal pen drive that also boots.
Extract the Ventoy download and run Ventoy2Disk.exe
Select your USB drive in the device list — check the drive letter and size twice, because the next step wipes it
Open the Option menu: enable Secure Boot Support if you will use the drive on modern PCs, and leave Partition Style on MBR unless you specifically need GPT (MBR works on the widest range of old and new machines)
Click Install and confirm both warnings
When it finishes, the drive appears in Windows as a normal large partition named Ventoy — that is where every ISO goes

3
Copy MediCat, Strelec, Gandalf and Windows ISOs
No burning, no extraction, no special tool — plain copy-paste.
Copy the MediCat, Strelec and Gandalf ISO files onto the Ventoy partition
Copy your Windows 10/11 ISO files the same way
Make folders if you like (for example WinPE and Windows) — Ventoy scans subfolders too and shows every image in its menu
Use simple English file names without special characters, so every image is easy to identify and nothing is skipped
Always eject the drive safely after copying — these are multi-GB files and a pulled-out drive means a corrupt ISO
4
Boot From the USB and Pick Your Tool
Using the finished toolkit on any PC takes under a minute.
Plug the USB into the PC you want to repair and restart it
Open the one-time boot menu — usually F12, F11, F8 or Esc, depending on the brand
Select the USB entry (choose the UEFI: entry on modern machines)
The Ventoy menu lists every toolkit and ISO on the drive — select what the job needs: Strelec or Gandalf for a repair desktop, MediCat for its portable app collection, or a Windows ISO for installation
If a blue "Verification failed: (0x1A) Security Violation" screen appears on a Secure Boot PC, that is a one-time key enrollment — this site has a separate fix guide for exactly that error
5
Keep the Toolkit Updated — Without Losing Anything ⭐
Toolkits release new versions regularly, and Ventoy itself improves compatibility with new ISOs. Updating is painless if you do it the right way.
Run Ventoy2Disk.exe and click Update (not Install) — this refreshes the Ventoy bootloader and keeps all your ISO files untouched
For a newer MediCat, Strelec or Gandalf release, simply delete the old ISO from the drive and copy the new one in
After any update, boot the drive once on your own PC and open each toolkit's menu, so you never discover a problem at a customer's desk
The full on-screen process — Ventoy options, Secure Boot handling and a tour of all three toolkits — is demonstrated step by step in the video above.
⚠️ One warning that saves data: the Ventoy Install button erases the whole USB. In step 2 you do it once, on purpose, on an empty drive. Later, always use Update. If you ever reinstall Ventoy from scratch, copy your ISOs off the drive first.

Ventoy installation, all three toolkits copied and booted, and the Secure Boot fix — the whole process in one video.
Does Ventoy format my USB every time I add an ISO?
No. Formatting happens only once, when you first install Ventoy. After that, adding or removing a toolkit is ordinary copy-paste — exactly like copying files to any pen drive.
What is the difference between MediCat, Strelec and Gandalf?
MediCat USB is a large collection of portable diagnostic and repair programs built around Ventoy. Sergei Strelec WinPE is a focused Windows PE repair desktop with strong disk, backup and password tools. Gandalf's WinPE is another repair desktop with its own utility set. Carrying all three is useful because a toolkit that struggles on one PC often works fine on another.
Will this USB work on both old (Legacy BIOS) and new (UEFI) PCs?
Yes. Ventoy supports Legacy BIOS and UEFI booting from the same drive, and the default MBR partition style gives the widest compatibility. On Secure Boot machines you may need the one-time key enrollment described in this guide's companion fix article.
