Export Snapchat Memories Inside the App in Batches of 100

Not every Memories download needs the full data request. If you only want your favourites on your phone, Snapchat's own in-app export saves them straight to your camera roll — no computer, no websites, no password typed anywhere risky. Here is exactly how it works, and the honest limits that come with it.

The in-app export is the quick, small route. You open Memories, pick the Snaps you want, and Snapchat saves copies to your phone's gallery. It is perfect for a few dozen favourites. It is not built for emptying a whole account — Snapchat lets you select up to 100 Memories per batch, so a library of thousands means many rounds of selecting. Know that limit before you start, and this route will never disappoint you.

Export Your Selection Step by Step

The whole process happens inside the official app:

  1. Open Snapchat and open Memories — swipe up from the camera screen, or tap the small photos icon beside the capture button
  2. Tap Select in the top corner
  3. Tap the Snaps and Stories you want — up to 100 in one batch
  4. Tap Export at the bottom
  5. Choose Download — the selected Memories are saved into your phone's camera roll or gallery
  6. Open your gallery and confirm the files are really there before repeating the next batch

Keep the phone on Wi-Fi and plugged in for video-heavy batches. A batch of 100 long videos is a serious download for a weak connection.

The Honest Limits of This Route

Three limits decide whether this route fits your job:

  1. 100 at a time. Five years of daily Snaps can mean 30 or more batches. Tedious is the right word — it works, it just takes patience
  2. You get the finished Snap. Exported files are the photo or video as saved in Memories, with its captions and filters already part of it — there is no separate "original camera file" version hiding in the export
  3. Saved does not mean backed up. Files in your camera roll are only as safe as your phone. If the phone is lost the same evening, the export went with it

When This Route Beats the Full Data Request

Choose the in-app export when you only need favourites, when you are about to change phones and want the best Snaps in your gallery, or when you need a few Memories today without waiting for Snapchat to prepare an archive. Choose the My Data request instead when you want everything, when your library runs into thousands, or when you are preparing to close the account. Both routes are official and free — the video above shows the complete process, and the main guide on this page's set walks through the full request step by step.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How many Memories can I export from the app at once?

Up to 100 per batch. Select the Snaps, tap Export, then Download. For a library of thousands you repeat the process in batches, which is why the full My Data request is better for a complete archive.

Do exported Memories keep their quality?

They save as the finished photo or video stored in Memories, including the captions and filters that are part of the Snap. The export does not produce a separate untouched camera original.

Do exported Memories get deleted from Snapchat?

No. Exporting makes a copy in your camera roll. The originals stay in your Memories until you delete them yourself.
