Thirty days are over and IDM now stops you at a registration screen every time you try to download. Before you go hunting for a shortcut, here are the only options that will not come back to bite you.

Internet Download Manager is a trial program. After 30 days it stops working until a license is registered — that message is not a bug, it is the product working as designed. You genuinely have three paths: pay for IDM, stop using a download manager, or switch to a free one. Let us walk through each honestly.
Internet Download Manager — Trial Period Over

The registration wall after day 30 is normal. What you do next decides whether the fix lasts.
1
Option One — Buy the IDM License if You Love IDM
IDM is a good product, and paying for it is a perfectly respectable choice.
Buy only from the official IDM website so the serial number is genuine and supportable
The license unlocks the same installation — your settings and download list stay
Check the current price on the official site before paying; it changes with offers and region
Never buy cheap serial keys from random shops — blocked keys are exactly what triggers the fake serial popup
2
Option Two — Switch to Free Download Manager
This is the route the video above is built around, and for most home users it is enough.
Install FDM from freedownloadmanager.org — it is free forever, not a trial
Set up browser integration so it catches downloads like IDM did
You get the same core jobs: multi-connection speed, resume, scheduling and download categories
Uninstall IDM afterwards if you want a clean system, or keep it disabled — both tools catching the same click causes confusion
3
Option Three — Use the Browser Downloader for a While
It costs nothing and for small files it is honestly fine.
Chrome and Edge can handle documents, installers and small archives without any manager
Where it hurts is big files: one connection, weak resume, and restarts after a network drop
Many users follow this path for a week and then install FDM the first time a 4 GB download dies at 90 percent

What Not to Do — Cracks, Patches and Trial Resetters
This section exists because the search results will push these at you hard.
Cracked IDM copies are one of the most common carriers of malware and miners — the tool that connects to every file you download is the worst possible thing to run cracked
Trial reset tools trip IDM's checks, which is how the fake serial number popup starts appearing
Patched copies also stop receiving updates, so browser integration breaks within months anyway
The free and legal tool exists. There is no practical reason left to take the risk
🔴 Straight talk: an expired trial is not a technical problem to be hacked around. Either the paid tool is worth its price to you, or the free tool does the job. Both are fine decisions — the cracked copy is the only wrong one.

The full video installs and configures the free alternative step by step, so you can be downloading again in ten minutes.
There is no official way to extend or restart the trial. Tools that claim to reset it modify the program, trigger fake serial warnings and are a common malware source.
Will my unfinished IDM downloads move to Free Download Manager
Partial files from IDM cannot be continued inside FDM. Finish or restart those files; new downloads in FDM will be resumable from the start.
Is Free Download Manager as fast as IDM
With connections and traffic settings configured properly, speeds are very close on most servers. IDM can edge ahead on some sites, but for the large majority of downloads you will not feel a difference.
