📋 Overview & Step-by-Step Guide
Download Only From the Official Website
Most Quick Heal problems are decided before the installer even runs — by where the installer came from. Type the official address yourself in the browser instead of clicking a search ad or a download-portal link:
quickheal.com
The same official site is also at quickheal.co.in. Its download page offers free trial downloads of the current Windows editions — that page is the only source this guide trusts. Do not take the installer from a search advertisement, a third-party download portal, a pen drive from a shop, or a link under an unknown channel's video: those are exactly the routes the fake-antivirus scam uses.
Pick the Edition Before You Download
Downloading the wrong edition wastes the whole trial, so choose first. The home line splits simply: AntiVirus Pro covers core antivirus protection for a single home PC. Internet Security adds stronger web and online protection for people who browse, shop and bank online. Total Security is the most feature-rich edition, positioned with extras such as Safe Banking, parental controls and ransomware protection layers.
Also match the licence to the machine — the number of users (PCs) and the duration are part of what you buy. Choose by what the PC actually does, not by the longest feature list.
Remove Any Other Real-Time Antivirus First
Two real-time antivirus engines on one PC do not double your protection — they fight over the same files, slow the machine down, and can flag each other. Before installing, open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, uninstall any other third-party antivirus, and restart the PC even if the uninstaller does not insist.
Microsoft Defender is the one exception you do not need to touch: when Quick Heal registers itself with Windows Security Center, Defender steps aside automatically and takes a passive role. That handover is designed by Microsoft — no remover tool and no registry edit is needed. The mirror rule matters just as much: never disable Defender and then install nothing. A PC between antiviruses is an unprotected PC.
Install the Downloaded Setup
Run the installer you downloaded from the official site and follow the setup through, accepting the licence agreement and the default options unless you have a specific reason to change them. If the setup asks for a restart, let it restart — the real-time protection finishes loading only after that reboot, and skipping it leaves the install half-done.
Activate — Free Trial or Product Key
On the activation screen, choose the honest route you are actually on: continue with the free trial if you are evaluating the product, or "I have a product key" if you bought a licence — and enter the key exactly as printed, character for character. Activation needs an internet connection, and the trial clock starts from activation, not from download.
Update Fully and Confirm in Windows Security
Stay connected and let Quick Heal download its first full set of virus definition updates before you judge anything — a freshly installed antivirus with day-old definitions is not yet the product you installed. Then open Windows Security once and confirm it now lists Quick Heal as your antivirus provider. That single screen proves the handover from Defender worked and that exactly one real-time engine is in charge.
Run the First Full Scan — Not a Quick Scan
A quick scan checks only the places malware commonly hides; that is fine as a later routine, but it proves very little on day one. Your first scan must be a full scan — every drive and folder. Plug laptops into power, close heavy programs, and let it finish completely: on a large or older hard disk this can take a long while, and interrupting it leaves the question unanswered.
When detections appear, the calm default action is quarantine: the file is isolated so it cannot run, but it is not destroyed yet — which matters if a detection turns out to be a false alarm on a file you actually need.
What an Antivirus Can and Cannot Clean
Done this way, you get a registered, updating, real-time antivirus as your PC's single active engine, plus a completed first full scan as your starting point. What you do not get is a guarantee: no antivirus — Quick Heal, Defender, or any other — removes 100 percent of infections, especially rootkit-class malware or a system whose Windows files are already damaged.
If scans keep finding the same threat coming back, or the PC still behaves infected after a clean scan, the answer is not to stack a second real-time antivirus on top. The honest ladder is a second-opinion scan — and, at the end of it, accepting that a clean Windows reinstall is sometimes the correct fix. The video walks through that judgement on a real machine.
