🧰 WinPE Rescue Toolkit

Strelec sergei winpe 2026 windows toolkit

One pendrive = all tools. Sergei Strelec WinPE loads a complete Windows-like rescue desktop from USB - disk imaging, data recovery, password reset, diagnostics and a Windows installer packed inside - so a PC that will not boot can be repaired from outside its broken Windows.

📋 Overview & Step-by-Step Guide

1

Download Only from the Official Sergei Strelec Website

The one safe source is the official site, sergeistrelec.name. Open the WinPE download page and pick the current 2026 build - the download runs to a few GB, so use a stable connection. The toolkit itself is free from the official source.

Any site asking you to pay for the download, install a downloader program, or switch your antivirus off first is a repack - close it and come back to the official site.
The download arrives as a password-protected archive. The archive password printed on the official site is strelec - it is the same for everyone, and it exists to stop antivirus scanners from unpacking the archive while it travels. That is normal for this toolkit.
2

Extract the Archive and See What Is Inside

Extract the archive with 7-Zip or WinRAR, entering the password strelec when asked. Inside you will find the WinPE ISO files and a folder of USB creation utilities - the download includes a bootable-USB folder with tools such as BOOTICE and UltraISO, plus instructions.

Every creation route in the next step ends at the same place: a pendrive with the SSTR folder at its root. That folder is the heart of the toolkit - it is what the WinPE loads its programs from.

3

Create the Bootable USB Pendrive

Strelec gives you three honest routes to build the pendrive:

Included utilities: use the tools in the bootable-USB folder that came with the download and follow their instructions.

Rufus: select the WinPE ISO, keep the default settings, and write it to the stick.

Ventoy: copy the ISO file onto a Ventoy stick as-is - no extraction needed, and it sits next to your other images.

Use a pendrive of 8 GB or larger, and back up anything on it first - the included-utility and Rufus routes erase the stick completely. The Ventoy route leaves the rest of the stick untouched.
4

First Boot - Into the Strelec Desktop

Restart the problem PC, open its boot menu (usually F12, F8 or Esc - it varies by brand) and choose your USB. A Windows Boot Manager screen appears with entries like "Boot WinPE 11 Sergei Strelec (x64)". There is a short countdown, so press an arrow key if you want time to read the menu.

Pick the WinPE 11 x64 entry on a modern machine; older PCs can use the WinPE 10 entry. The files load into RAM - the Windows logo you see is the PE loading, not your broken Windows - and the Strelec desktop appears with a Start menu and taskbar. Open Programs WinPE in the Start menu, or the MInstAll manager on the taskbar, to browse every tool.

Nothing on your hard disk has been changed yet. Everything you do from here is a choice, not an accident.

5

Fix the Problem - Pick the Right Tool Group

The Start menu groups more than a hundred tools by job. Names and versions rotate between builds, but the groups stay the same:

Hard Disk Tools & Backup and Restore: partition managers, disk editors, and imaging tools such as Acronis and Macrium - resize partitions, clone a disk, or image it before a risky repair.

Diagnostics: AIDA64, HWiNFO, CrystalDiskInfo and memory tests - check the disk's health first, then the hardware, before blaming Windows.

Data Recovery: R-Studio, Active File Recovery and more - pull the user's files off a Windows that will not boot.

Password tools: PCUnlocker and Reset Windows Password can clear a forgotten local account password. Microsoft accounts are a different story.

Network, remote & Windows setup: PENetwork, browsers and remote tools for copying data to another PC, offline antivirus scanners, and the Windows installer itself.

One rule protects every job: if the data on the PC matters, copy it out or image the disk before any repair attempt - a repair can fail halfway, a backup cannot be un-failed. And a BitLocker-locked drive still needs its recovery key; no tool in this or any toolkit can open it without one.
