  1. The region screen - the first question after the install
  2. The keyboard layout - and skipping the second layout
  3. The network screen - connecting before you can continue
  4. Naming the PC - the video names his machines OFFICE-PC and ANSHU-LAPTOP
  5. The Microsoft account sign-in - what it links to this PC
  6. Creating the PIN - the everyday sign-in from now on
  7. The privacy switches - the last choices before the desktop

📋 Overview & Step-by-Step Guide

1

Confirm Your Region

The first sign-in screen asks for your country or region. Confirm the country you are actually in: this choice sets the Microsoft Store content, the date and number formats, and some default apps the PC starts with. It is a two-second choice, but it follows the PC for years - and if you ever pick the wrong one, region and language can still be changed later in Settings.

2

Pick the Keyboard Layout

Next, pick the keyboard layout that matches the keyboard in front of you. Windows then offers a second layout - unless you genuinely type in two layouts, click Skip. A wrong layout here is the classic reason passwords seem to "not work" during setup: symbols and letters sit in different places. Like the region, the layout can be changed later in Settings.

3

Connect on the Network Screen

Windows now shows the network screen - "Let's connect you to a network". Pick your Wi-Fi network and enter its password, or plug in a network cable. Setup uses this connection to check for updates and to prepare the account sign-in that comes next, so the video connects here instead of trying to move past the screen.

📌 The honest position: on current Windows 11 Home setups, an internet connection and a Microsoft account are required to finish the first sign-in. This guide follows the video - connect and sign in. It does not print bypass tricks; they change with every version and break silently.
4

Name the PC

Setup asks you to name the device. Keep it short and simple - letters, numbers and hyphens. In the video the machines are named OFFICE-PC and ANSHU-LAPTOP. This name is how the PC appears on your network and in your Microsoft account's device list, so a name you will recognise in six months beats a clever one. It can be changed later in Settings → System → About.

5

Sign In With a Microsoft Account

Enter your Microsoft account email and password. Signing in links this PC to your account: activation is matched to you, the BitLocker recovery key is backed up to the account, and the Store, OneDrive and settings sync start working. Know that the account you use here is where your recovery key and your device record will live - use an account you control and can get back into.

6

Create a PIN

Windows asks for a PIN for Windows Hello. A PIN is not the same as your password: it is tied to this one PC, it never travels over the network, and it unlocks the machine in seconds. Your full password still exists behind it and is asked for on sensitive changes. Set a PIN you will remember but others will not guess.

7

Set the Privacy Switches

The last screens are the privacy switches, explained in plain words in the video: location, Find my device, diagnostic data, inking and typing data, tailored experiences and the advertising ID. Each switch decides something this PC shares or personalises. Turn off the ones you do not want - none of them is permanent, and every one can be changed later in Settings → Privacy & security. Accept, and setup finishes: the desktop appears and the PC is ready to use.
