Ping Dropping Every Few Seconds? 😳 Mbps vs Gigabit Network Issue | IT Support Fix

3-4 PACKETS PING DROP | SPEED & DUPLEX SETTING
PC MBPS VS GIGABIT SWITCH | NETWORK CONNECTION PROBLEM
REAL IT SUPPORT NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING | TECHNICAL ANSHU
In this real‑world IT Support case, the network connection was experiencing intermittent packet loss.
While continuously testing the connection, 3‑4 ping packets were dropping intermittently. The hardware itself appeared to be fine, but during troubleshooting we discovered that the PC’s network adapter Speed & Duplex setting was configured at Mbps while the network switch was Gigabit‑capable.

In my company, there are a lot of users who never run into daily problems, but for one particular issue we never spend three days on it. So there was a user in our accounts department whose problem was with Tally. He uses Tally, but after a few minutes of using it here, it starts to reconnect, which interrupts his workflow. Now we think the wire causing the reconnect might be faulty. So what did we do to test it? We ran ping against Tally's server and also Google. But when he was using it, three to four pings would drop, and three to four pings would be normal—something you wouldn't even notice. When you sent four pings, they would start to break apart, and even when you sent three to four normal pings, you wouldn't notice anything was wrong. His Tally would just reconnect. So we first. We changed the wire first, because maybe the wire was the issue. After that, his problem didn't go away; he kept complaining that the reconnect was happening. And here we. When we tested again, it was the same issue. Three or four pings would drop after a while and then it would fix itself generally. So here, changing the wire didn't fix the problem. So we fixed the IO, patched it, and fixed the gat...

The Tally user was experiencing the problem, but the underlying issue was the network connection — the ping itself was also dropping.
