Fix CapCut Internet Issue - Connection Problem
CapCut shows "no internet connection" on your PC while your browser opens every website fine? That split is the clue: your network is alive, and one app is being stopped. Work through the fix order — clock, firewall, DNS, VPN, cache — and reinstall only as the last step.

📋 Overview & Step-by-Step Guide
Prove the Split Before Touching Anything
Open your browser and load two or three websites. If they open, your internet is working and the problem lives between CapCut and its servers — CapCut's effects, templates, stickers and auto captions all talk to CapCut servers, so when that one conversation fails, the app reports a dead connection even on a healthy network. Spending two minutes confirming which side is broken saves an hour of random reinstalls.
Restart CapCut and the PC, Then Check the Clock
Fully close CapCut from the system tray, not just the window, and open it again. If that does not help, restart the PC — a restart rebuilds network sessions that a sleep-wake cycle leaves half broken. While it boots, check the Windows date and time at the bottom right of the taskbar. If the clock is wrong by more than a few minutes, fix it before anything else in Settings → Time & language → Date & time: secure connections check certificates against the clock, and a wrong clock makes healthy servers look unreachable.
Allow CapCut Through the Firewall
Windows Defender Firewall and many antivirus suites quietly block apps they do not recognise, and a fresh CapCut install or update is exactly the kind of change that triggers a block. The honest test is simple: allow CapCut through the firewall with a proper allow rule, then open CapCut and retry.
Flush DNS and Check the Proxy
Two invisible layers sit between CapCut and its servers. First, DNS: your PC keeps a notebook of server addresses, and stale entries send the app to a dead address. Open Command Prompt as administrator, run this command, then restart CapCut:
ipconfig /flushdns
Second, the proxy: open Windows Settings → Network & internet → Proxy. If a manual proxy is switched on and you did not put it there — some VPN and office tools leave one behind — turn it off and test CapCut again.
Test the VPN — It Cuts Both Ways
If you run a VPN, disconnect it and test CapCut. A running VPN can break CapCut when its route or region makes CapCut's services unreachable. But be honest about the reverse: if your own network or provider blocks the route to CapCut servers, a VPN is sometimes the very thing that fixes the connection. Neither direction is a universal rule — test both states and keep the one that works.
Clear the CapCut Cache From Inside the App
CapCut downloads effects, templates, stickers and fonts into a cache so they open instantly next time. When that cache corrupts — after a crash, a forced shutdown or an update — the app can fail to load anything new and present it as a connection problem. Open CapCut, go to Settings (the gear icon) and the global settings, find the Cache section and use the built-in clear option. Close CapCut fully, reopen it, and let the first downloads complete on a good connection.
Update, Then Reinstall Only as the Last Step
Check for a CapCut update, because server changes sometimes drop support for older app versions. Reinstalling comes last, not first: uninstall CapCut, restart the PC, then install a fresh copy from the official CapCut website and sign back in.
